INFO
This performance brings together a cast of world-class professional singers, talented vocal students from Trinity Laban and committed local amateur performers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, united in their passion for music-making.
Composed for King Charles II and thought to be the very first English opera, Venus and Adonis follows the mythical story of the eponymous lovers. Inspired by the masques that were performed at the king’s court, the opera is a compelling medley of singing, dancing, and story-telling involving shepherds, hunters and an obedient band of little Cupids in training!
